Instructions for using a waste autoclave on the -1 floor

  1. Before arriving at the autoclave waste device, it is mandatory to reserve its use in advance through the BookIt website, under the Autoclave Waste device. The device must be reserved for 3 hours.

 

  1. The waste bags must be closed with tape intended for the Autoclave. The waste should be placed in two closed and taped bags (bag within a bag) in case one tears, to avoid waste spilling and blocking the autoclave drainage, which can ruin the device. On the tape that closes the outer bag, it is mandatory to write the lab name and the room number. Avoid a situation in which debris emerges beyond the closure of the bag.

 

  1. The two metal baskets should be placed in the device, one on top of the other, with the tray in the bottom basket. Both baskets and the tray are needed during the operation, even if the amount of waste does not fill both, and one will be empty.

  1. The only program you can work with is "Liquid B – Waste". There are liquids left in the waste, so you need to use a program designed for liquids.

  1. In general, programs can only be switched when the door is open.

 

  1. Close the door gently, while making sure the sensors connected to it from the inside enter the device, and the door does not close on them.

  1. For the door to lock and the device to start working, press on the door for a few seconds until you hear it close, and a "System ready" message is shown on the control panel.

 

  1. Click on the "Start" button. The device will operate for about three hours, including cooling and opening. Stay near the device for the first few minutes of the "Water Filling" stage, in order to make sure that the device is working properly and that there are no leaks.

  1. At the end of the sterilization process, the message "Cycle Ended" will appear on the screen. Press the "Stop" button and then the "Up" button in order for the door to open.

  1. Carefully remove the bags and throw them into the green bin.

Notes!

  • Do not arrive at the autoclave without registering for it through Book-It.
  • Do not leave unsterilized bags in the room for any reason! It is unsafe and unsterilized waste may be thrown away without treatment.
  • It is mandatory to transfer the sterilized bags to the green bin!
  • If the "Reset" button located on the back of the device comes out, press it in. If this happens several times, please inform the person in charge or the management.
  • We ask all the users of the autoclave to operate according to the written instructions.
  • Please take care of your health and that of those around you!
  • Please take care of the public devices so they can be used without any problems and for a long time!
  • The room in which the device is located is linked to a camera! Please – save unpleasant situations in which we will have to check who did what!
